Zaman Velji joined BCI in 2015 and is a Senior Managing Director within the infrastructures & renewable resources team, Zaman leads Asset Management for a portfolio spanning over 40 direct investments globally. He serves on its investment committee and has spearheaded various initiatives including coverage of Asian markets. With $250.4 billion of gross managed assets as of March 31, 2024, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets.

Prior to joining BCI, Zaman was a consultant with McKinsey & Company serving institutional investors. Zaman also worked in development and diplomatic roles with the Aga Khan Development Network, advancing international development priorities in Central Asia.

Zaman has an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and undergraduate degrees in engineering and in government from Cornell University. He has also participated in governance programs at INSEAD and the Stanford Law School.
