Blake Fizzard

Senior Managing Director, Global Operations

Blake Fizzard joined BCI in 2016. He is the Senior Managing Director, Global Operations who leads all non-investment strategic planning and project management while collaborating with departments across BCI to support the program. Prior to leading Private Equity’s operations, Blake spent four years on the direct investment team, primary focused on the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sector. With $233.0 billion in gross assets under management as of March 31, 2023, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.

Prior to joining BCI, Blake spent 20 years in public and private operating company environments, leading treasury, tax, financial reporting, risk and insurance, and investor relations functions. Blake’s experience includes extensive management of projects in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, and debt/lease financings and equity raising. In addition, Blake spent eight years providing financial services with Deloitte through multiple offices in Canada and Bermuda.

Blake holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Memorial University and holds CPA and ARM designations.

Blake currently serves as a Board Director for Navitas Ltd., a leading Australian-owned, for-profit private education services company; and Verifone Systems Inc., a payments and commerce solutions platform, allowing him to continue collaboration and operational efforts with our portfolio company management teams.
